The
Neverbeens formed in the winter of 2006, when founding
members Steve Ferrara and Tali Hersh, two established
singer-songwriters, crossed paths at a Brooklyn open
mic. Over time, Katie Fuller and the
Reverend Crawford Forbes signed on to fill out the band's
unique sound. As a band
of multi-instrumentalists, The Neverbeens now take
turns playing different instruments, often switching
between guitar, piano, mandolin, trumpet, percussion,
harmonica, electric bass and drums. A
Neverbeens live show will travel from neurotic crashes
of rhythm and soul down to a melodic whisper. Their
variety of writing styles and sounds are credited to their
many influences, such as Suzanne Vega, Bright Eyes, Phish,
The Editors, Gomez and Cat Power.
The band released a self titled EP in February '07 and
their debut full length album 'Straight line' came out in
September '07. Following the release of their album,
The Neverbeens toured across the Northeast
and Midwestern United States and Canada. While
at home in Brooklyn, they often perform in various NYC
clubs from Mercury Lounge and Knitting Factory to Goodbye
Blue Monday and Pete's Candy Store. Currently the
band continues to tour the US, gaining fans and spreading
their love of music. They are also in the process of
recording an EP for release in September
'08.
